We invest in a community called Ocean View, where about 40’000 coloured (a South African term used for those who are not “black” or “white”) people live. Ocean View is built on a hillside with a truly lovely view of the ocean! The coloured people are lively, loud, good entertainers and have a love for good music and dance. 

There are though also multiple challenges facing the people here. High unemployment, drugs, crime, prostitution and young people falling out of school are daily issues we encounter. ​We want to bring hope and perspective to the young people at risk. In 2016 we founded HopeTown a youth community and youth movement in Ocean View. Our HopeTown family is diverse, wild and imperfect and hungry for change. 

As HopeTown we invest with a longterm perspective. Instead of giving hand outs, we train young people to become the solutions for themselves. We offer a training to unemployed youth who are stuck in life and often in very unhealthy circumstances. In this full time program we support them to become stable in life, teach them skills and help them to discover their talents and develope their characters.

We produce professional and trendy products which you see in this shop. Our brand stands for Hope, Upliftement and practical love towards people.

We are proud to be represented worldwide with our high-quality, handmade products, crafted in our skills training programs. Our products are available in our own shop in Kommetjie, as well as in several different stores across South Africa, Germany, and Switzerland and through our online shop.

Every Rand we earn from selling t-shirts, hoodies, kids' clothing, leather products, jewellery, and cards stays in Ocean View to support youth activities and training programs within the community.
